HAVE you noticed how easily your table gets cluttered with papers and books if you do not follow the policy of ‘clearing the desk’ every day? Today, we offer as the target for action: KEEP CLEAR! A good safety program may consist in preventing accidents from mounting; but the ideal is to stop them from starting. So also in every other sphere, prevention is easier than cure.
“Well begun is half done!” is an excellent motto; but keep in mind also, that a bad beginning may be your undoing. Start your calculations wrong, and every step takes you further and further away from the right answer. Start your journey on the wrong road, ad every step takes you further and further on the wrong road, and every step takes you father away from your destination. Start your day in school or office with a group, and you must end with a growl. So watch the beginning, no matter what you undertake to do.
When there is an epidemic, the Municipal authorities try to nip it in the bud. If not, it soon gets beyond control. If a fire starts in your home, factory or storehouse, a tiny fire-extinguisher may smother the flame; but once it takes a hold, half-a-dozen fire-brigades may have to struggle to control it.
